Questo processo biologico converte gli inquinanti in sottoprodotti innocui come anidride carbonica, acqua e altri microrganismi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trattamento terziario: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questa fase \u00e8 facoltativa, ma spesso viene utilizzata per purificare ulteriormente l'acqua. Tecnologie come la filtrazione (ad esempio, sabbia, carbone attivo) e i trattamenti chimici (ad esempio, clorazione, disinfezione UV) vengono utilizzate per rimuovere i contaminanti residui, gli agenti patogeni e le impurit\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trattamento dei fanghi: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I fanghi raccolti nelle fasi di trattamento primario e secondario vengono ulteriormente trattati.
